Mental health support when you need it.
Our experienced team provides evidence-based support for people navigating life’s challenges, helping them build resilience, confidence and wellbeing.
Subsidised
Psychology
Program
Jewish House’s Subsidised Psychology Program connects eligible clients with our established network of independent psychologists and mental health professionals.
Our psychologists provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused support for adolescents, adults, couples and families — helping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges and life transitions.
You access support through the standard Medicare pathway — paying the session fee and claiming your rebate as usual — and Jewish House covers the remaining out-of-pocket gap, following a short eligibility check.
Occupational
Therapy
Mental health affects daily life — from routines and schoolwork to friendships and family life. Our occupational therapist works predominantly with children and young people, helping them build practical skills, healthy routines and coping strategies to manage everyday tasks with more confidence — while also supporting adults with similar needs. This can include adapting home or school environments, learning new ways to approach tasks, or working towards personal goals at each person’s own pace. The aim is to build independence, confidence and wellbeing.
OT is Medicare and NDIS rebated.
Mental
Health Nurses
Our mental health nurses provide community-based support for people managing ongoing mental health needs — a regular point of contact helping people stay connected to care and navigate challenges as they arise. They can work with you to plan your recovery, offering practical strategies for coping with stress and symptoms, and support for family members trying to understand and navigate a loved one’s mental illness. This ongoing support suits people managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or psychosis.
SMART
Recovery
SMART Recovery is a free, evidence-based recovery program grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). It supports people with substance dependencies or problem behaviours to:
- Build and maintain motivation
- Cope with urges and cravings
- Manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- Lead a balanced life
Jewish House hosts a weekly SMART Recovery session every Wednesday at 6:30pm, facilitated by an accredited SMART Recovery facilitator.
No referral is required, and sessions are anonymous.
