Bondi beach attack response
On 14 December 2025, a terrorist attack targeted a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach.
It was the deadliest attack on the community in Australian history, and the worst mass shooting in Australia since 1996. Fifteen lives were lost. Forty people were injured.
Jewish House was on the frontline within hours.
Jewish House worked alongside the federal and state government, clinicians, and community organisations to coordinate mental health responses, practical assistance, and emergency care for victims, families, and the wider community.
Within weeks, a dedicated support team had been built from the ground up.
The Unbreakable resilience program launched in parallel – a long-term program designed to support individuals and families affected by the attack as they move through recovery.
The Royal Commission is ongoing. The work continues.
